As researchers, we have got to be our own worst critics. I have visited sites that present questionable evidence and it leaves the group with no credibility. We strive to scrutinize everything we capture. Only when we are satisfied that there is no outward cause for the evidence we collect, do we then consider our capture an anomaly. Presented here are some false photos, that look like actual paranormal evidence. Some were taken on purpose, others were thought to be spirit activity, but later discounted. As we obtain more false photos, they will be added to this page.

Wow! Cool mist picture! Or is it? Although there are actual orbs in this photo, it gets thrown on the trash heap...the photographer was smoking! |

Oh, no! The investigative team is surrounded! Yeah, with dust! Dust is often characterized by numerous "orbs". But look at how the orbs overlap each other, over and over. This is typical of dust. |

This was taken in the Borough Hall in Hatboro, PA on the way up to the bell tower. Maybe some of these are orbs, but I saw the dust reflect in my camera's flash. So, off to the false photos page! |

Awesome! Look at the apparition of a boy! Actually, the residents of this house in Paulsboro, NJ reported that they see a boy in the house all the time. The investigators on the team that captured this picture consisted of two women and one man, whose torso is in the picture. We really thought we had something here! It really killed us to discount this one, but discount it we must! See the next frame for the explanation. |

What you are seeing is actually the man in the picture! When the photographer took this picture, the flash cast his shadow on the wall beyond him, next to the window. In turn, the mirror then reflected his shadow, which is why it faces the opposite direction he is standing. If you look in the mirror, you can also see the edge of the window. We have cropped the investigator's torso and turned it around so you can see that his outline fits the shadow's outline. Although he is holding a video camera to his face, his body was turned enough so that the camera did not cast a shadow. The profile of the "boy's" face also does not match the investigator's profile, again, because his body is slightly turned. You will have to take my word for that since you don't know what he looks like, but I do! We'll admit, this photo had our pulses going for a while! |
