Case Studies - Westmont, NJ - 11/16/2001

It was reported by the residences of this home that disturbances have been occurring for over 20 years, but that for the past two years activity has seemed more disturbing. Since the residents began cleaning out the basement and attic in anticipation of a move, activity there is a daily occurrence.

Some things the residents reported: Sometimes in the early hours of the morning, kitchen cabinet doors could be heard banging, like they were being opened and closed. The television channels would start surfing on their own. A closet door appeared to be bulging outward with a pushing sound from inside. The resident thought it was the cat, but when the door was opened, nothing out of the ordinary was found inside.

Of particular concern to us during the investigation was a perception that one spirit there is unfriendly, and this was confirmed by the residents. They have often felt like one or more family members or frequent visitors were being targeted by this unfriendly spirit. One investigator was targeted during our investigation. The spirit did not like Investigator England, who felt very unwelcome in the basement of the home. She obtained an EVP of a male voice calling her name and asking her to pack her bags (of equipment)...now! Later in the investigation, the same spirit told her to 'Drive on'. Despite her not-so-nice reception, Investigator England toughed it out and completed her investigation! Here is some of our evidence...

Our findings:

From evidence collected on our first visit to this home, we found spirit activity everywhere, the most active being in the area of the first floor, consisting of the kitchen, dining room, enclosed back porch and living room.

In the basement, Investigator Bove' saw a shadow descend in this area of the basement and obtained this positive photo.

A large orb indicates spirit activity in the kitchen.
During the investigation, Investigator Bove' hurt her back. But even when down and out, she still managed to snap this positive picture showing a tiny little orb on Investigator England's...um...leg.

Investigator Bove' took this photo showing multiple orbs in one of the most active parts of the house. We also see that at least the resident's dog liked Investigator England.
Investigator Ciafre recorded this photo when she felt the team was being followed.

EVP EVIDENCE

Some voices are difficult to hear and are open to interpretation.  We have posted these voices as they sound to us. Click each underlined text to hear the voices.

"Linda, won't you pack your bags...now?" An investigator named Linda feels uncomfortable just as a spirit asks her to leave. You hear the investigator say, "I don't know if I can stay down here" just after the spirit asks her to leave. This investigator was verbally targeted throughout the investigation as evidenced on her voice recordings.

"Drive On!" Once again, Linda is told to leave! This was recorded as two female investigators were about to ascend the stairs to the third floor.

"Our place is up there" This was recorded in the third floor master bedroom. The attic is the next floor up.

"It's HIM!" This was recorded as a male investigator entered the basement.

VIDEO EVIDENCE

Watch
from the first floor: An orb darts quickly from behind the camcorder into the dining room toward the investigator.

Watch
from third floor: An orb appears to pass from the bureau, hesitates at the attic door, then flies past an investigator's legs. You can see the pant legs move as the spirit brushes past.
