Case Studies - Burlington County Prison Museum - Mt. Holly, NJ -   January 21, 2006

On this night, it was back to one of our favorite haunts to see what else our investigators could document.  Although we visit the prison often, this was our third "formal" investigation.  You can check out our first and second expeditions by clicking on the respective links.

As usual, the prison was in fine "sprits" (yes, we hear the groans).  One of our new members saw a full-bodied apparition and there was an incident on the second floor of a window opening on its own.  Our evidence included some impressive pictures of spirit energy, along with 18 EVP!  We offer a sampling of our evidence here.

If you ever have an afternoon to kill, we highly recommend a visit to the prison, which is open to the public.  Be sure to take a camera and recorder with you...the spirits just might want to pop up and say "Hi."

While Investigator Agar was standing in the corridor gazing out a second-story window, he glanced over in time to see a full-bodied apparition in the bathroom!  As another investigator moved in to inspect the situation, Investigator Agar captured this energy still lingering in the room.  As the bathroom was being inspected, a man's voice was also recorded, which can be heard below under EVP Evidence.

Wow!  That's all we can say about this tumbleweed-sized orb captured in the second floor corridor by Investigator Sauter!

Investigator Bocchicchio took this picture when Investigator C. Groff (pictured) smelled roses.

Investigator K. Groff captured this humungous orb roaming the prison's corridors!

Investigator Pierantozzi took this clear picture showing an orb as it is beginning to split!

When Investigator Bocchicchio heard a noise, she spun around and took this picture showing several orbs in the doorway from where the noise had emanated.
Investigator R. Kranz caught this faint, but large orb in the prison yard.  It is in this corner of the yard where condemned prisoner Joel Clough is purportedly buried.  He was executed by hanging after having murdered his ex-fiancé.

A random photo taken in the basement by Investigator Halpin shows that she was not alone.
EVP EVIDENCE

As Investigator Agar was inspecting a bathroom on the second floor where he had just seen an apparition, he recorded a man's voice!  You'll hear Investigator Agar ask aloud, "Are you still here?"  to which a male spirit replies, "Hear me."   Listen

Just a couple of seconds after the above EVP was recorded, Investigator Agar picked up another male voice asking, "Who's there?"  Although the spirit's voice is pretty clear in this clip, the echoes of investigators talking down the hall make this one a bit difficult to hear.   Listen

This EVP takes you right back in time!  Recorded by Investigator Halpin on the second floor of the prison, a man calls out, "Anybody feel cold?"  One might imagine it was a nightly ritual to hand out extra blankets to anyone who might need one!  Awesome!   Listen

Recorded in the basement by Investigator Halpin is this very clear, male voice saying, "He ain't here."   Listen

While in the Warden's Office, Investigator Halpin recorded this frail, female voice sadly stating, "I'm afraid....I'm afraid."   Listen

WOW!  WOW!  This is a fantastic capture by Investigator Halpin in none other than the Women's Wing of the prison!  Listen to this breathy female saying, "Call me...like a customer," followed by a man laughing!  Could this be an incarcerated prostitute propositioning a male guard???  It certainly sounds like it!   Listen

While chatting with other team members in the prison's workshop, Investigator Bove' recorded this clear, female voice saying, "Oh, my God."   Listen
