Case Studies - Smithville Mansion - Eastampton, NJ - September 22, 2007
We were once again privileged to investigate this amazing mansion and surrounding outbuildings! We thank the Friends of the Smithville Mansion for their hospitality and we want you to know how much we enjoy your company when we come to visit! You can learn more about this magnificent historical site by visiting our first investigation page, which you can access by clicking here. During our first visit of the mansion, most of our investigators felt very welcome, despite a few EVP to the contrary. The overall atmosphere in the the mansion during this trip was not as inviting. There were a few areas of the mansion where our investigators either felt unwelcome or obtained EVP that in no uncertain terms told us to leave! Even though the spirits may not have wanted us around this night, the Friends of the Smithville Mansion always welcome visitors! Please visit their website by clicking their name to see what events are coming up at the mansion. There's always something happening! We hope you enjoy the evidence we collected as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you.... -Click on a photo for a larger image-

| EVP EVIDENCE
The Mansion Investigator Halpin was in the dining room when she recorded two female voices. The first is that of a young girl who loudly says the name, "Joanie!" followed by a more distant woman saying, "Knock a few." Listen Investigator Bove' was alone in the office that was used by H. B. Smith when he owned the mansion. She recorded this male voice in a halting, yet commanding voice, saying, "Dust off the book." Listen Investigator Bove' was in the parlor of the mansion when she suddenly felt as though someone had walked up behind her. It was at this moment she recorded this haunting male voice saying, "Mommy, forgive me." Listen Investigator Halpin and her team were in a second floor bedroom when she recorded this pleasant exchange between a young boy and woman. You will hear the boy say, "Merry Christmas, Joy," to which she replies, "Thank you, Nick." Listen Just after recording the above EVP, Investigator Halpin stepped from the room into a common landing area. Her recorder then picked up someone whistling, and the loud voice of a woman saying, "Look at that." Listen While investigating the main floor of the mansion, Investigator Bove' picked up this residual male voice chanting, "left, right, left, right..." as if keeping a marching pace. The voice just trails off. Listen Investigator Bove' was sitting on the stairs between the 2nd and 3rd floors of the mansion when she recorded this raspy male voice saying, "I heard...too bad." Listen The Annex This young boy's voice was recorded in the billiard room by Investigator Halpin. Listen as he muses, "If just 2 could make it." Could he have been talking about the number 2 ball in a game of billiards? We'll never know, but the voice is loud and clear! Listen Still in the billiard room, and about 9 minutes after the young boy was recorded, Investigator Halpin picked up these two woman. The first says, "Come on over for the funeral," followed by the second saying the name, "Ray Coran." Listen Investigator Kurkis was in the billiard room, trying to get the spirits to talk to him. Um, talk they did! Listen to this male spirit tell Kurkis, "Leave our house." Listen The School While investigating the outbuilding that was once a school for the Smithville community, Investigator Bove' took a picture towards Investigator Kurkis, who neglected to close his eyes. It was at this moment that Kurkis recorded this mocking male voice saying, "You're so pretty!" Listen Immediately following the above EVP, Investigator Kurkis recorded two other male voices. The first says in a commanding voice, "Serve the net!" followed by another male saying, "And it sucks!" Listen Investigator Halpin was on the top floor of the school when she recorded this young girl's voice saying, "Look, Dan's sick. They pissed me off, too." This voice is small, but rather clear. Turn your computer speakers up for this one. Listen While her team was walking up the stairs in the school house, Investigator K. Lenkowski recorded a male voice saying, "Hello," followed by another male voice whispering, "Hi." Listen The Grounds In this clip, you'll hear Investigator Halpin say "flash" as she takes a picture while investigating the grounds of the mansion. A very young little girl then asks, "Now sat down pretty?" Or it could be that perhaps her name was Nel.... Listen The last EVP recorded this night was captured by Investigator Halpin. She was investigating the grounds and stepped into the tunnel of the grapevine arbor leading up to the main house. As she entered, she felt as though someone was walking next to her, so in this clip, you'll hear Halpin ask the spirit for their name. A woman's voice is then heard saying, "She could see you talking." Listen VIDEO EVIDENCE Investigator Thornton captured this energy flying into a second floor bedroom. Watch as it flies up and into the middle of the room, then it simply disappears. Watch While
her team was investigating the billiard room in the annex, Investigator
Thornton caught this fast-moving orb flying around a couple of our guest
investigators.
