Case Studies - Historical House - Marcus Hook, PA - December 8, 2007

And so...we return once again to our beloved Plank House, which has quickly become one of our favorite haunts (sorry).  On this night, it wasn't just about the ghosts who might be hanging out in the house....it was all about a guy named George....

In October 2007, SJPR held a presentation for the good citizens of Marcus Hook, PA and the surrounding areas to help raise funds for the restoration of Black Beard's Plank House.  Turns out, it was the biggest fund raiser they have had so far!  This single event facilitated a matching grant that allowed restoration work to begin in earnest!  It was inspiring to see a community come together to save a piece of its history and we are thrilled to have been a part of this momentous occasion!

Part of the fund raiser consisted of a bucket auction, which included two spots on an actual SJPR investigation of the Plank House...that's where George comes in.  He was our big prize winner and this investigation was all about George and his friends having a real paranormal investigative experience!

Our winner, George!	Oops!  Um....not sure if he wants his face on the website, so....there ya go...

The Attic

This is an absolutely astonishing EVP that was captured in the attic by Investigator Rogozin!  As we have had in the past, a young female spirit communicated with our investigators!  Listen as Rogozin asks a loud if anyone wants to make their presence known...a young female asks in reply, "Is that a question or a statement?"  Oblivious to the LOUD response he had just received, Rogozin continues talking to no spirit in particular, asking, "Maybe you could say something?" to which the same spirit replies, "Sure."  She is loud and clear!   Listen

Just 10 minutes after receiving the above EVP, Investigator Rogozin picked up this gruff male voice saying, "They were on the horse."  This would be considered residual, since it did not seem to apply to anything happening during the investigation at the time.   Listen

While her team was chatting in the attic, Investigator Bove' recorded a female voice saying, “Get out.”  She is quickly followed by another female going, “Shhh!”  I guess the second spirit felt it was rude to tell the us to get out!   Listen

In this clip, recorded by Investigator Bove', you'll hear her ask aloud to a spirit, "Who's here?  I can feel you're here."  The clear voice of a female spirit is then heard saying, "I should be wonderful."   Listen

While Investigator Halpin spent time in the attic, she recorded recorded two spirit voices.  The first is a raspy voice saying, "God, it sucks," followed quickly by another spirit agreeing, "Yeah."   Listen

The Basement

Upon reviewing her audio from the first few minutes in the basement, Investigator Bove' found that she had recorded 3 distinct female voices that she audibly heard, as well.  You’ll hear Bove' ask aloud, "Anybody down here with us?"  A woman’s voice is then heard asking, “What happened to your necklace?”  She is answered by a second woman saying, “We don’t know.”  You'll then hear Bove' say she had heard a whisper and then the loud voice of a soulful-sounding woman says, “We love you.”   Listen

Still in the basement, Investigator Bove' captured this very loud female voice remarking, "He's a jerk!"  Bove' then states that she "just got a chill."   Listen

During a quiet period in the basement, Investigator Bove' recorded two more loud voices!  The first is a young female saying, "Damn it.  What's that?"  Immediately following is a distressed voice saying, "Oh, my God!"   Listen

Investigator Halpin recorded this loud, clear female voice in the basement, warning, "Get out of it!"   Listen
