Case Studies - Private Residence - New Egypt, NJ - April 14, 2007

We were called to this lovely home because of the negative energy the family has been experiencing for years.  It is theorized that the youngest child, who is now a young adult, introduced an inhuman spirit into their lives as a teenager by playing with a Ouija board in a cemetery located across the street from the home.  They have had rooms completely trashed and there has been unseen hands that have touched the children.  They did learn to live with the activity and had taken steps to rid their lives of this unwanted entity.

Now, many years later, the family is ready to move on, but are unable to sell their house, which is gorgeous and located in an upscale neighborhood.  Appliances break one after the other and no prospective buyer stays longer than 5 minutes.  The evidence that we gathered does suggest a negative entity in the home, along with many, many other spirits.  Listening to the audio from this investigation was likened to sitting in Grand Central Station and listening to multiple conversations.  We also believe the energy is centered around the family, as most of the spirit anomalies captured in pictures and video were around the family members. 

Older maps of the area show that the cemetery across the street had actually continued onto the land where this development now sits.  Reminiscent of a Hollywood movie, it has been suggested through the research and experiences of the family, that the developer may have only moved the headstones, but left some of the bodies that are interred on this ground.

During this investigation, we obtained many EVP that told us to leave - both strongly and as a  suggestion!  We also recorded a foul-mouthed spirit, which can only be heard in our Adults Only Section.

At the onset of the investigation, we gathered with the family in the living room for a mediation circle.  It was during this time that both Investigators Bove' and Orapello captured what sounds like an elderly woman humming.  It seems to have a "Native American flare" to it.  It should also be mentioned that we had 7 audio sources recording the meditation, but this humming was only picked up by 2 recorders.  Investigator Bove's version is offered here.   Listen

Also recorded during the meditation circle, Investigator Halpin picked up a female voice that was already wanting our teams to leave.  She asks, "You're working on leaving?"   Listen

This clip was recorded by Investigator Tornatore in the family room.  The female spirit is whispering, but can still be heard demanding, "Get the heck out!"  Although not as harshly stated as other spirits, the sentiment is the same.  We just appreciated not being cursed at!   Listen

During a break in the investigation, Investigator Halpin recorded this woman voice saying, "C'mere, mom."   Listen

As previously stated, listening to the audio recorded in this house can be like sitting in Grand Central Station, listening to the different conversations.  At one point in the investigation, we observed 5 minutes of silence to see what evidence could be gathered with no one talking.  It was during this time that Investigator Bove' recorded several voices.  One is offered here...listen to this female giggle as a man asks, "Want to get married?"   Listen

Only partially through the investigation, one spirit let us know that he was at the end of his tether.  Recorded by Investigator Tornatore in the living room was this male spirit announcing, "I've had it!"   Listen

Recorded in the family room by Investigator Halpin were these two woman's voices.  The first asks, "What's wrong?" followed another voice stating, "You can just turn that off."  Although an investigator starts to speak on the second voice, it is still clearly heard.   Listen

In this clip, you will hear a long tone from Investigator Bove's camera.  Her recorder then picked up a female asking, "What is it?"   Listen  

While in the living room, Investigator Halpin recorded this clear female voice asking, "Guess who?"   Listen

While Investigator Bove' was chatting with the homeowner, Investigator Halpin recorded this loud female voice saying, "I'm not sure."   Listen

VIDEO EVIDENCE

Our videographer of the evening was Investigator Thornton.  She captured quite a bit of evidence, much of which was around the family members.

This is pretty amazing footage of an orb flying around with decidedly purposeful movements!  Watch as it enters the kitchen through a doorway and circles around, touching the homeowner on the shoulder.  It then moves away to the wall beyond, but comes back to travel down his shoulder again.  It also appears that the orb becomes fainter in its travels.  Could it have used up the energy that was available to it?  It lends credence to the theory that spirits need and use energy.   Watch

As Investigator Thornton films the client using dowsing rods, a misty figure can be seen just outside the room in the foyer.  Because we meticulously document our investigations, we have determined that no one was in this area at the time this was filmed.  In addition, we have researched whether or not this anomaly could have been caused by the headlights of a passing car…we think it could have have been - IF THE VEHICLE WAS 40 FEET HIGH and driving straight at the house!  This home is situated atop a pretty steep incline and there is no opposing street.  If you would like to comment on this video, it can also be found in our Skeptic's Corner.   Watch

Keep your eye on the doorknob in this clip.  You'll see a worm-like anomaly appear and it seems to dissipate into a mist.   Watch
