Case Studies - Private Residence - Langhorne, PA - August 11, 2007

This was a really interesting case for SJPR because the homeowners felt that their young 18 month old daughter was interacting with people they couldn't see!  Now, we obviously couldn't interview the baby...she's brilliant, of course, but she can't talk yet.  So, we had to rely on our investigative skills and our equipment to see if we could help the parents understand their daughter's secret language. 

What we found is nothing short of miraculous!  It seems that this little girl really is interacting with people only she sees - and we have the audio to prove it!  In addition, the parents have their own encounters with spirits they believe are dearly departed loved ones.  One of our investigators came up with the name Celia (not a common name), which happens to be the grandmother of one of the parents.  The homeowners also believe that at least a few of the voices we captured were those of their grandparents.

Because the activity seemed to center around baby Shayna, we tailored our investigation to include her for at least part of the evening (until it was time for bed).  We felt this was a crucial component in documenting our evidence.  We should point out that no babies were harmed in the making of this web page.   

This investigation was truly enlightening for everyone involved.  It may also make you think twice the next time you see a baby cooing and babbling to a wall or empty chair!

Sigh...we're getting a little tired of getting cursed out!  We're on some sort of foul-mouth roll with the spirits we're encountering!  It was our Investigator Halpin who took this brunt this time!  Available exclusively in our Adults Only section!

The Preliminary Visit

This EVP was actually captured during our preliminary visit with the family.  It's so good, we just had to include it here!  As Investigator Bove' was explaining to the family what to expect when we came back to conduct the formal investigation, Investigator Tornatore's recorder picked up this opinionated female spirit saying, "That lady over there is talking too much."  Um, yeah...we know!   Listen

The Investigation

Baby Shayna was still awake and hanging out with Investigator Tornatore and his team in the living room.  Listen to this loud female voice saying, "Shayna!" as she seems to be playing with the baby!   Listen

It was time for Shayna to go to bed and her mommy brought her into say goodnight to Investigators K. Groff and Bove'.  As she toddled around the room engaging everyone, Investigator Bove' recorded this male voice saying, "Come over here...mmmm, huggies."   Listen

When it was time for little Shayna to go into her room, Investigator Bove' placed her recorder in the room during the time her daddy was reading her a story, as he does every night.  Listen carefully after dad reads, "...and that is why..." A male voice is heard saying, "That's perfect."  Immediately after the male spirit speaks, you'll hear Shayna start to make distressed vocals.  Although you can't see it in the audio, obviously, dad explained that she had her arm and hand extended as if reaching for something or someone.  As her daddy continues to read, a male voice says, "Shayna!" as if trying to calm her.  She immediately stops vocalizing.  Listen to the original clip a few times to try and pick out the spirit voices.  We've then conveniently clipped them separately so you can hear them more clearly!   Original   Perfect   Shayna

After Shayna had become distracted from the story for a second time, dad had trouble getting her attention back.  Listen as a woman speaks to her in baby-talk, saying, "Look at you, cheechie head!"  Shayna then happily squeals!  Remember that Shayna and her daddy are alone in the room!   Listen  

As Investigator K. Groff was preparing her equipment at the start of the investigation, she recorded this husky female voice stating, "I'm okay."   Listen

Just after turning on her recorder in the master bedroom, Investigator Bove' picked up this crystal clear voice of a woman saying, "Good morning."   Listen

Investigator Halpin recorded this female spirit asking, "Do you want to come with me?" in a sing-song voice.   Listen 

Investigator K. Groff recorded a woman asking, "Did you come for us?" when Investigator Bove' asked her to step into the spare bedroom to see if she could feel the same energy she was feeling.   Listen

While still in the spare bedroom, Investigator Bove' was describing the imagery of a young girl she was seeing.  It was at this time that Investigator K. Groff recorded this clear female voice warning, "I say leave her alone."   Listen

While investigating the toy room, Investigators K. Groff and Bove' were both seeing imagery of a 3 year old little girl.  It was at this time Investigator Bove' recorded two female voices.  The first says, "Come close," followed by a more raspy-voiced lady saying, "Oh, angel."   Listen

Investigator Halpin recorded this clear response!  Investigator Tornatore had stated that he audibly heard a spirit's voice.  You'll hear him ask, "What did you say?" to which an elderly female responds, "I'm Ingrid."   Listen 

Not entirely comfortable with having spirits near him, the homeowner stated aloud that he would do "almost anything" to repel any nearby spirits.  It was at this moment Investigator K. Groff recorded this male spirit who sarcastically said, "You're living - oh, so sorry!"   Listen

As Investigator K. Groff's team was preparing to go on a break, she recorded this loud, clear, female voice saying, "See us flinch."   Listen

NOTE:  A visitor to our site offered the following regarding the above EVP:  "Regarding this EVP ...  hubby and I believe she is speaking in a German accent and is introducing Fritz, either as her own last name or for another spirit present 'Er is Fritz' (he is Fritz)."  Thank you, Erin, for your interpretation and taking the time to write to us.

The black lounge chair in the living room seemed to have a lot of activity around it.  Investigator Tornatore recorded this male voice warning, "Don't go on the chair."   Listen

In contrast to the previous warning to stay off the chair in the living room, Investigator Halpin recorded this male voice saying, "Come on the chair, kid," as baby Shayna was playing happily near it.   Listen

We're not quite sure what to make of this next clip, although it is loud and clear!  You will hear Investigator Halpin say "flash" as she taking a picture and her recorder picked up this male voice saying, "Oops, sorry, Tom."   Listen
